Looking west from downtown you don't even 'feel' like you're in downtown Houston. The bayou is always brown but seems to add to the overall definition of 'bayou'. Have you ever seen a blue bayou...other than in song ;) Enjoy and thanks for stopping in today. Have a great weekend. Anita

Everything about this is just perfect Anita. The green of the trees, the path to the left ( which looks so inviting ) , the blue of the sky and of course that brown bayou water which is just so pretty. Excellent composition.

Great shot.. the perspective is particularly good. I agree about the brown water.. it would seem a bayou is nothing without it! the colours are strong and vivid.. an excellent shot for the middle of the day too.

Well done. Anita!!!! Houston obviously knows how to plan a city that is people friendly. I love the clouds, they steal the scene.

For as many times as I've been to Houston, I've never seen the bayou this close and this nice. Next trip, ok? You've composed it so well, Anita, and it's wonderfully clear. And I agree - that sky is eye-popping - Very well done! - Patty

I cannot picture this being in the middle of Houston. That amazes me. No, you won't find any blue bayous around here either...some clear bayous but not blue. Wish they were. very nicely done.

It is difficult to imagine this beautiful scene in the middle of a big city, but here it is. A fine post, Anita. I like the perspective and the contrasting big puffy clouded sky.

Wonderful perspective leads the eye into this beautiful scene. Great clarity and detail and a rich variety of color make this an outstanding photo. Love the sky and the mud bottomed water - what a contrast. Love the road and the little building that act like focal points. Well done Anita!

Yes, some of our rivers are so broun as well Anita, it is because of the muddy base of the river. Thank you for this posting.
