Strangest name I've ever heard for a bird ;) But that's what the sign said. Once again, taken through glass but he appears so proud and like he was waiting for me to capture him. Thanks always for stopping in and know that I appreciate all of you. Anita For more info on this bird, there's a good writeup at: http://www.honoluluzoo.org/go_away_bird.htm

He's got his beady black eye on you, Anita. Handsome Bird, Funny name indeed!! Might be something to do with his call? You do ever so well with glass - photos are always so clear. Thank you for this beauty!

He's a handsome little feller. I love the colors - his dark color against that green is wonderful. I really like the angle of the branch he's one and the fronds behind him. Not so sharp overall but I kind of like the softness of it. Makes him look like he's got fur instead of feathers. anne :-)

If you look at the face of the bird and the stance of it's pose, it really looks like it telling you to go away. Wonderful picture Anita AS ALWAYS. Love it. As for me, I think I am going to have to learn how to type again, or get a bigger keyboard.

I marvel at God's creativity. Just when you think you''ve seen the most beautiful this or that, thanks to people like you and to this web site, I am presented with another amazing example of it. What an amazing bird. I love the tuft of feathers on his head and the fluffly soft look of his breast. Maybe the glass subdues the colors, but here it just makes for an incredibly soft teal and yellow backdrop for his multi-gray coloration.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
