This is the grove behind my uncles house where my brother and i would explore the woods and swim in the little river. And now that we've grown older, our bonding time is faint. The sun is setting on what we used to have.
Nah, not /\ really. The rule of thirds is nicely applied vertically, but think about it horizontaly also. Move the sun to to the right so it hits the intersection of a tic-tac-toe grid and you increase the interest level of the post, may eliminate some of the rings around the sun, and eliminate the branch of the tree, which, imho, is not enough of a diagonal to draw the eye into the picure, nor straight enough to act as a frame.
On the other hand the silhouttes are very nicely done, the focus is crisp and sharp, and the clouds add an interesting depth.
A for effort, just a few suggestions for future posts.

PS As mentioned on a different thread somewhere - pretty please don't be so quick to put yourself down. This post has a lot going for it, and anything offered will just be to help to increase your knowledge for the future.

PS PS A touching narrative as well, one I'm sure virtually all of us can relate to...
