Here's an idea you can try. If you turn off the drop shadow in the gold style (we'll add it back later). Then create a new blank layer and put it directly underneath the gold style layer. Click on the gold style layer to select it and do Command-E (CTRL-E on PC). The gold style layer will be converted to a "normal" paint layer, and combined with the blank layer. Then duplicate the layer (CTRL-J or Command-J) and set the blending mode for the top of the two layers to overlay. Add a drop shadow to the bottom of the two layers. The result is a gold that will really shine!
