Bad Ischl lies in the southern part of Upper Austria, in the area known as the Salzkammergut. During the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the town was the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph. You still feel the emperor's times there - like you do it, when you look at the old Post Office. It was a rainy day, so I had to manip a lot to get a good image.

Really like the way you maniped this pix. It really shows up against the dark sky. Our post office's are so bland here that they're not picture worthy. Our mail is so slow that I'd hate to think what it would be like in a marvelous, many floored and many roomed building. Nice post.

The contrats are very nice and the color of this old building is so nicely presented. I do something down on the lower right behind the post office that looks like you might have been trying to remove something. It does not distract though.

Sabine, think you've manipulated this to a very nice image. The contrast of the post office against the dramatic sky is really wonderful. Well done! Regards, Cornelius

Very dramatic image, Sabine and a great bold color on the building. Set against that sky the building is kind of intimidating and almost scary. Nice work -

Great job on this one! The sky looks ominous. Has an "Addams Family" feel to it.

What beautiful architecture in this old post office! Amazing that it serves such a mundane(but important) purpose..seems like it should be located on a palaces grounds somewhere! Excellent shot Sabine! C):-)

Grey day, maybe, but the color and crispness of this building come through loud and clear. Such a wonderful building and a great post. Nice work on this one.
