This is a man made tunnel (circa 1818) diverting water from the Harpeth River near Nashville, Tennessee. Previously used as an iron forge, this short cut (you can see from one end of the tunnel to the other), cuts five miles off of the natural course of the river. It is my first attempt at shooting running water. I didn't have a tripod with me, but my Olympus E-510 has an anti-shake feature which helps with slow shutter speeds. I shot this one at a speed of 1/6 second.

This is great. I really like the way you have captured the gushing water. Not that I am an expert, but is the water in the foreground slightly blurred?

Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

It must be viewed full screen to fully appreciate. I like the stark colors. Give it the cold look that I'm sure it is this time of the year. Reminds me of scenes from Civil War movies for some reason. Good photo.

What a wonderful place! Hard rocks and cold water, and you made a very impressive picture of this. And thanks for the story!
