It is a nice effect, but an artist would leave out some of the extraneous items and just draw the main subject. For example, I don't think they'd include all the materials on the ground in front of the boat and the tree branch intruding from the right, but this effect would look good on a simpler subject I think.

I disagree with Cynlee. I like the depth of the the sketch. A good artist will look as deep into his art as he can and what he draws or paints he does with his hands,eyes and mind. This is what you see. Nothing wrong with that.
