This is a picture I took at the Reptile Gardens in South Dakota. I have a bunch of other awesome ones from there that I might upload later. If you are ever in south dakota, you have to visit this place. It is so much fun! They have an open aviary, where tiny birds will run across the path in front of you without warning, where there are turtles and lizards wandering about the ponds, and the occasional small python lazily coiled about a tree limb. They have cool animal shows, and an awesome gift shop. Okay, I'm rambling. I hope y'all like the picture. Let me know what you think! Have a great day! : - ] Remember beauty is by design.

Thank you very much NMSmith. I know it's not the best quality of picture, but I'll just have to bump the pixel setting on my camera up before I take photography pictures again. But the color is what I liked best about this picture. Thank you for the complement. Coming from you that is great. I love your pics, especially the gem pictures.

Awww he's so cute!! I love birds. Excellent colours, very vibrant! I like the composition - it's almost like he's smiling over his shoulder at us.

Thanks. I guess, honestly, I didn't really have to capture him. It was in the aviary, and he was just sitting there contently, enjoying the attention. I used my picture it premium 10 program to airbrush some of the colors on his feathers, not because they weren't originally that color, but because they were kind of faded around the edges, and I used it on the leaves, because he had committed a small indiscretion on said foliage. But now you can't see that, and the pic turned out alright! : - ] Thanks for the compliments! Y'all have a great day!

The composition is well done, also something you could try is putting darker bars on the sides - might make the image easier to look at and enhance the contrast of colors within the image. Cheers.

Great color in this picture. What also look good with a frame all the way around to really make the bird stand out.

Thanks!!

I saw it on the home page featured image, but I didn't know if it was just a fluke, that they picked pictures at random and it just happned to be mine that time I got on. I didn't think it was necessarily because the picture was anything special. : - ]
Let me know what y'all think of Cool Ride, and Refiner's Fire. The one of the horse I haven't gotten many comments on, and Refiner's Fire is my favorite picture of me that anyone's ever taken. I'm not being snobby or prideful, (Or I'm not trying to be) I just really like the way it turned out. (A picture that actually makes me look half-way decent is a rarity!) hah hah. Thanks for the comments and compliments. Y'all have a great day!!

That is a very cool picture. I have went to the Black hills on Vacation for the past 20 years and have went to Reptile Gardens many times. I'm sure I have took some photos of that very parrot. You did a great job of framing that parrot. Because it's hard to get really good shots in that aviary. Also thanks for the comments on my Golden.

You were saying about Crayola factories...? (Ducks under the desk). Beautiful parrot, and a lovely picture - I like the contrast between the quiet green and the bird itself.

Definitely what a parrot is supposed to look like....amazing colors and very clear!!! The parrot definitely sticks out against the green leaves. I'm wondering....maybe a black border would make the colors pop even more than they already do...I think I'll check that out! Great job!!

A lovely shot, beautifully composed and with great colours. My only suggestion would be that you "mark off" the photo from the green blocks with a fine vertical line each side in a yellow colour to match the plumage of the bird.
