nice shot of the racer..he's cool. the track guy in the ear muffs, and the trash can...not so much ;-)

This was too much of a pull for me, so I played with it a bit. This has so much great action in it...nicely taken :)PJ

You did a lot of things well with this capture Matt.
Compositionally, the angular leading lines of the track barriers ... position of the rider and bike ... nicely done on those aspects.
Technically, it appears that you nailed the timing and focus as well. Detail, clarity ... and colours are great throughout.
I echo only part of what has been mentioned above ... in that the trash can is the only visual detractor for me.
Don't know if have other shots, don't know how restrictive things were for you in terms of being able to roam around a bit ... but, knowing you to a degree ... I suspect that you made the most of your opportunity and that does indeed show here.
I kind of like the shot. Not the most ringing of endorsements, lol ... but, unless you have been to such an event, 'one' really doesn't know the realities of such situations.
It's a great action shot. That I would wholeheartedly agree with ... and on that note, thank you for sharing the look through your lens. :o)
