"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." Bertrand Russell
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more
--Lord Byron

Yes, I too thought the spiky shapes looked like aliens or maybe little nano-creatures. I like the fact that it is quite a dark image - best viewed full screen.
There is something oddly organic about it, but at the same time a hint of machinery perhaps, or some sort of nano-engineering. I called it 'cepahalopods' because the little 'things' reminded me of some sort of undersea creature - like a nautilus shell or something.
