This was a snapshot that Louisa and I took from the Roanoke Star. I'd like to go back and get another one with a tripod next time, but this is what Louisa and I came up with on this trip.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain & bitter; for always there will be greater & lesser persons than yourself.

Aww...brings back memories. I went to Randolph-Macon Woman's College for my undergrad so I wasn't too far from Roanoke. I have a friend who actually goes to VA Tech right now. Ok, enough about me...You've actually done quite well without the tripod. The photo is a bit hazy, but if Virginia is as humid as I remember, then there's not much you could have done about that.

Awesome shot of my city. :) I love the view from up there, and have a few shots of downtown I may share in the future. Now that the H&C sign is lit up again, that would make an excellent shot as well.

Not the torturer will scare me Nor the body's final fall Nor the barrels of death's rifles Nor the shadows on the wall Nor the night when to the ground The last dim star of pain, is hurled But the blind indifference Of a merciless unfeeling world
