Verena's Touch

A sample of Verena's work, both photographic and literary (as placed in two of her images), presented as a collage using Picasa. You can find all 23 (I believe) of these and others here at Caedes. I had become familiar with Verena's generosity and thoughtfulness through Caedes' activities since my arrival here. I was just starting to get to know more about her through e-mails since about a month ago... with three weeks of holiday travel thrown in. What a shock I experienced when soon after returning home, I read, here, about Verena's sudden departure. Verena's signature at the end of her e-mails went "Courage consists in the power of self-recovery" so let us keep this in mind as we keep her in our thoughts. Let us celebrate her life for the great person she was. Her touch was experienced by us in image, word and action!

I was helped a great deal by the comments in other hommages to Verena... in most instances I used the pointers Caedes' members gave regarding Verena's work. And I now notice that I didn't end with my usual! So here it is... :o)

Con, this is so very beautiful, as well as clever! I especially love how the majority of the images are b&w on the edges, with a touch of colour in the middle. I also like the dark gray background, which puts more focus where it belongs and doesn't compete with the collage. Excellent work, and beautiful tribute to a very special and dear woman! Faved + saved to enjoy longer. Thank you Con! :)

Wendell & Lori...
The only thing I really did was move a couple of images slightly so that Verena's text was completely visible. Verena had taken the photos and posted them here at Caedes. The comments left by those who loved and appreciated Verena guided me to the majority of the selected images for the collage. Picasa did the rest. But thank-you and you are most welcome. I know I felt much better about Verena having departed after reading some messages left by the daughters of Verena in the Discussion Board. :o)

All....
See this DB message... if you are reading this before 6:00 pm Friday, July 16 A nearby flower shop is Burkhardt's European Flowers 503-645-6492... just in-case! :o)

Thank you Con, my Mom would have been so happy to see this wonderful collection of hers. I really appreciate this. Her beach and ocean pictures were so dear to her heart, that is why she will be there again tomorrow....always part of the sea, always part of the sunset.....

I can see you spent some time choosing the photos Con. Picaso did a good job of making the collage.

Nice touch and gesture.
