This picture was taken over 20 years ago by my father. I am the young boy in the front and my younger brother is behind me. We no longer talk to each other, hence the title. I made some changes to the original photo after scanning it such as changing the aspect ratio, removing the color and adjusting the contrast. Unfortunately my scanner is not very good but I tried to fix it up a bit by removing some of the blemishes on the original. I made a wide-screen version too, which I like better than this one. Well, I hope you like it. Update: For those who are interested we finally started talking a little... not much but i guess it's better than nothing.

It's a beautiful photo with a very intense atmosphere ..your title and background story emphasize that even more like Curt mentioned already... maybe the fact you made this now means there's hope still?:)

Well, you've done a good restoration job on the photo and I like the effects you've given this...given the background story, the dark color fits the mood and the perspective is also quite intersting...it almost seems like one of those gulls had a camera with him as he zeroed in on the beach near the kids...great composition and I wish you and your brother good times again, hoping you will one day reconcile.:Pat.

The photo is so good, and those gulls look huge against the children. It's always sad to have problems with family, but somehow we deal with it, we make choices and we go on. I like the b*w here. Memories are important. Hold on to the good ones. Verena

I love your photo. I just lost mys sister to cancer and knowing we had an awesome relationship get me through the days of missing her so. Go give your brother a hug, tomorrow may be to late to say I love you.
