Very pretty... I think the background is quite good; unobtrusive, unlike how my shots of flowers usually turn out, with ugly fences and such in the background...

I don't know. I just like flowers etc. in their "natural" surroundings, not in pots. But I must admit, this background isn't as bad as I first thought.

I have to agree, I think the background isn't that bad, personally I like the blue (sky look) with the in-focus greenery. The epiphyllum foilage while not spectacular, makes a great background in this photo. The fact that you got two blooms, one in profile and one face on is very nice. You could play with it some, but I don't know that I would. I guess you could play with some gaussian blurs or paste in some different background into the blue background, but I can't think of any that would make it look better, other than perhaps a nice fluffy cloud maybe, but then that might make it too busy. /shrug it's really your call, but don't be too hard on yourself. :)
