I really like this image Glenn and I'm REALLY pleased to see more and more people cropping their images to make the best image possible instead of just trying to fill up the screen.
The composition and subject matter are dead on.

at first i thought the almost completely blown out snow wasnt good, but the longer i looked the more it appealed. i really like this, however it looks a little crooked, droping to the left, but great details

Shouldn't be crooked. I used Photoshop to "measure" the stairs and adjusted the image rotation so that the stairs were "parallel" to the ground. It probably looks "droopy" because the land does slope off to the left :)
