I just like interesting 3D abstracts as wallpaper. I think this one has a certain balance to it and I find it evocative of another dimension or time. I hope you like it. It is of course a combination of 3D and 2D art and techniques.

I LOVE 3D abstracts as wallpapers and it's one of the categories lacking from this site. While this one has one or 2 many sharp edges for me, I'm looking forward to seeing what else you pull out of your hat 8•)

Terrific 3D image Peter ! I agree with Cat, we need more of this around here ! A great image, pretty subtle considering the genre, & I really like how you faded the background color dark blue to mauve, sweeping across the pic. Beautifully done !

Great work Peter , again . Beautifull colors and well balanced asymetrical compisition , I really like this , Its well detailed and yet still comes across uncomplicated with a nice flow and movement .

Very interesting. I quite like the colours in the 3Dthingi but not the ones of the actual backround. You have done terrific job with the 3Dthing, it's great! It could be just a little less to the right. I don't know if that was your meaning but the backround isn't very soft. I can see stripes.

Ah...if you're seeing stripes in the background it's artifacting due either to your video settings being below 16million colors...probably set at 256 colors...that does cause banding. The original is perfecty smooth. It could also be due to viewing the image very small. I put the sculpture to the right so that people would have plenty of room for their icons on the left.

I love this! It never occurs to me to make abstract shapes like this in 3D modelling, I suppose because when I learnt 3D the course was called "3D Modelling and Photorealism" - This work is inspiring to go further - well done and keep up the brilliance!!!
