I had an image in my brain...kind of a Scifi image and I went about creating it in the pre-release version of Vue6. It's a wonderful tool for creating magnificent landscapes. This one took several hours to render on a powerful machine because of the Global Renderosity. I hope you enjoy this. It actually makes a wonderful desktop if you like this kind of image. (Must be viewed full size if possible).

I thought for sure you were going to say that you used Bryce to create this. I am jealous. I may as well admit it and just come right out and tell you so. I'd love to be able to create a scene like this :)

Great image. Reflections and reflections of and within reflections...
A calm, forgetful sky about an ocean not quite left at peace, though superficially tranquil... the title together with the image suggest the last "watcher" on an abandoned world - a sentinel left behind, blind, deaf and dumb, unsensing, unthinking, neither dead nor alive...

Thanx everyone. I too like this image. It has a mixed feeling of peace, loneliness and a little discontent. There is something ancient about it and something new. It so nice when you create a piece of art and actually LIKE it yourself!

i love the detail. the way you have gone through the trouble of reflecting the clouds and the water off of the sentinel's "armor" is marvelous. You even went through the trouble of reflecting clouds off in the distance, at least, that's the way it looked to me. I really think it's a great work of cg art. good job.

Well, I wish I could take credit for the reflections, but this is my original lonely sentinel and the reflections were raytraced using a 3D application called VUE. I designed the scene and built the sentinel and then used VUE to create the atmosphere and water according to my specifications. Easy-Peasy.

It is interesting that you pulled this image from your mind // I recall an old japanese live action film called daimajin where the mountain god is in the lake after defeating the evil lord who had overtaken the village and he is standing alone in the lake .. It is amazing the similarities between the two! Check it out!P.S. there are three movies in the Daimajin series/ I dont remember which one.
