I've uploaded two earlier stages of this matte painting. This one has a lot more detail in the shadows. It usually takes many passes and layers to create a digital matte painting. I hope you like this one. Compare it with the two earlier submissions Starting with "Evening Docking." There is a lot of small detail so you need to see this one full size.

Really enjoying having a front row seat for the creative process and progress on your piece here. :o)

Here are the links for the previous and earlier incarnations thus far, for easy comparative purposes:

Evening Docking -- Detail

The composition, in and of itself is what caught my eye initially. Now seeing the colour and digital painting being done and the progress ... the transformations occurring, are indeed most interesting to me.

Kidding a bit there, read about your Wacom woes.

Very nice work. Looking forward to seeing more in your series.

And but of course, thank you for sharing your thoughts and creative talents with us along the way. :o)

Thanx for the links Purmusic! I haven't a clue how to do that sort of thing. I'm still working on it, and I'm thinking of putting aforeground element on the left side. I wanted it to look lonely, but in away it's kinda barren. If it looks good, I'll post it.
Oh I'm also cleaning up the shadow detail. Some of the angles are a little wrong and I'm not happy with all that area to the lower right of the tower.
