So many possible stories here - both before and after and, actually, right now. Brilliantly open-ended - this would make a great desktop for those boring moments. You could write your novel instead of playing Mine Sweeper.
The only thing that strikes me is that the lightning doesn't seem to be reflected, which seems a bit odd. Well, OK, odd in a different way than the general oddness of the whole situation!
