Created in Photoshop using bamboo brushes I got for a publication I'm working on. EDIT: The "borders" at the top and bottom are for placing shortcuts, as in, this was meant as a desktop background, and I found the untreated version of the pic was too busy and obscured the text of icon names. I did this piece mainly because I wanted something different to look at on my XP desktop than what I already had (along with the previous reason given). If you look at what shows through the dark sections, you'll notice that they are fairly uniform detail, so covering them doesn't really detract from the piece as otherwise those areas I would have just cropped out (which would then leave no place to park icons).

I really like the inner part. It has a great flow. I would love to see it cropped in about half without the white bordering being opaque and that signature sure is a mess. Completely ruins the whole area and the style clashes with the work. Subtle or nothing would be much better.

Interesting work here, The central part has a nice 3d feel with the sorta barbed bits over the pastals. The darker detailed framing works for me and the sig....leave it there any way you want. It takes nothing away at all. Like the piece a lot and my hats off to you for doing this in Photoshop. At first I thought this was a framed frac. Nice one!

I can't imagine what a 'bamboo brush' is but I like the effects of what it does. I have to say tho, I don't care much for the borders you have chosen. I feel the art piece is very delicate and pastel looking, but the borders seem a bit too heavy feeling to me. Maybe use something a bit on the Japanese art style, delicate bamboo framing or something like that. I don't care for the 'signature, I don't think it's needed IMO, but that's a personal preference of course.
A nice creation. Verena

I really really love this.. the texture, colour, and composition is fantastic.. i got this in the VB and it stood right out at me.. it has a slight 3D effect which is wonderful and the border really sets it off... fav'd and high score.. well done

I like the tree like formations and the embossed look. The colors are soft and very beautiful. Very nice work!
