Taken a couple of days ago on one of our daily (allowed) exercise walks...This is on a nearby Cycle track and walker's way, half a mile from our home...This 'Ladle' used to carry molten steel in our local Steel-Works'..(Now closed since the early 80's...

I used to drive the over-head cranes lifting these and pouring them into the furnaces!..

Once upon a time so fit as to carry molten steel but now discarded and put aside. Good find and shot Bob.

Very interesting and strange old machine, at least for me.

Bet there are a lot of memories there for you. It looks as though it is being looked after.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

You have done many things in your lifetime Owd Timer. Such a varied life you have led.
I can imagine this ladle pouring out molten steel.
Wonderful capture.

That is quite a heavy look piece of engineering, Bob. You were a hard-working man I see. Good for you...so was I.
