Oh wow Ed, what a beautiful view form your office. Yes it really is so amazing the things they built back then, love the colours in this capture. Great depth and textures here also.
On top of this being a fabulous look at very ancient times, this picture is a great study in repetition... The aquaduct going its businesslike Roman way, arch after arch, in a straight line... the similar trees (look at their sharp and similar roof-lines) becoming mesmerized by the rigid order of the aquaduct and doing their very best to behave symmetrically as well... and then there is the line of green bushes in the field receiving mind-meld from the aquaduct and finally there is the maverick in the field! Slanted lines?? Well, at least the horizontal boundaries know their place. :) I like the slight vignette effect on this one...softens the rigidity and sharp lines. Beautiful scene, and perfect for an office!
I remember this about as much as I remember the Colosseum Ed. This is beautiful. As you know, I was stationed in Brindisi. Such a special people those Romans. Thanks for posting.
