The lake was a place of entertainment and resorts of the ancient Romans. Near the lake were located a place of worship dedicated to the goddess Diana; "Nemi" in fact takes its name from nemus dianae, sacred forest dedicated to the goddess; the building of the Roman age dedicated to the temple of Diana, stood originally on the shores of lake but now it is relatively far away for the decreased capacity of the basin. Today the area produces a small strawberry of the highest quality particularly sweet that you can find only over there. Yesterday we enjoyed them.

This works Ed, the light is great and makes the green very intense, and it's all nicely organised. Did you climb or fly for this I wonder?

Oh my, this is beautiful! I love these shots from so high up that we can see for quite a ways all at once. It looks like a very fertile area with those lush crops growing there. I would love to taste those strawberries of which you spoke. I guess the Romans always found th nicest places for their recreation.
A great photo, Ed.
