That's extreme! It's reminiscent of an artist I've seen before but can't remember who. Jury's out for me Ed, I like it but it's a bit burnt out in places. Nice perspective and an interesting project.
I really like this. It's like an illustration/painting from an ancient book.
I agree with Nigel, though. You've lost all the detail in the tops of the umbrellas.
The rest can be corrected with just a minor reduction in Gamma, but the umbrella tops is from the hdr. If this was from the plug-in, a slight darkening with Curves in that central area will restore the design on the tops of the umbrellas.
Ed - This has a bit of an Edward Hopper late-in-his-career look. (Perhaps other viewers will identify other painters of this genre also.) A bit over done for my taste, but very interesting, particularly the middle third. Keep the photos of Italy coming! Thad
I have read the comments and it seems that the only thing that others felt needing was a toning down of the hot spots, which I think you could easily do. I too like the watercolor/illustration appeal of this wonderful place and the HDR gives all the other colors such rich vibrant quality. You have become very proficient with HDR. I'm still hesitant to give it a good try.
wonderful! It looks like a very colourful painting of some exotic Italian bistro! (I'm not sure what it really is, but that's the impression i get =D)
Thanks for sharing!
faved for sure!
