Nice shot, Ed. Still think the frame attracts too much attention, making it a distracting influence. Also tends to exaggerate converging verticals that are not particularly distracting.
I have to say that this very simple shot of a street lamp is my favorite thus far. Very well composed. I think the dark sky really contrast well with the lamp and wall. Faved.
My computer went belly up and I won't have a new one until Friday. I apologize for using a canned comment but the monitor on this laptop makes every thing look dull.
I pride myself on the personal evaluations of each photo on which I leave comments. For now please accept my apology because faulty equipment make it impossible to leave a fair critique.
Get used to this disclaimer because it will be the one I use to let you know I have viewed you latest post. I won't be posting until I recover my files and load them on the new computer.
That is a very interesting composition, with the shot divided into thirds. You are a master at coming up with great angles for your shots, Ed. I love that cloud filled blue sky, and the touch of HDR. Very nice work again.
Ed - I like the composition a lot. Simple, yet effective, with three vertical bands of color. The angle seems a bit awkward however, with the sense that the photo is tilted toward the left. Thad
I am going to be a bit controversial. You are posting some fantastic stuff at the moment and you have developed a recognisable visual style that I like very much. But very often I feel that they are SO CLOSE to being really good but not quite there and it's usually down to lack of attention to detail in the composition. This one is wonderful, gorgeous textures, a really inventive way of photographing buildings, lots of fine detail and terrific colour. Great contrast between natural and man-made, with the clouds and mountain in the middle; but it's not quite there because the angles of the buildings are awkward together. And I don't think you need the frame. It's a terrific piece of work and I don't know how you are churning out so many great pieces just now!
