I always feel that simple street scenes come to life if there are people in them. I know most of us strive to leave crowds behind, and so we should, but the lone woman sewing in this picture makes it. I presume this is a manipulated photograph. The presentation of this scene would have been good in any format, colour, B&W, or as it is with a soft sepia. It is one of those cases there the image stands for itself. I have to say I like this version, I like the composition with the curving street, and the look of concentration on the woman's face. It brings out a whole unseen life. Fine image.

Very good, the monochrome makes it look like the features in the buildings and street are all hanging in empty space.

Hi Ed, your wife seems also to have a good eye for street
scenes. Excellent B/W! The only thing I can´t imagine:
An old lady sitting on the lane and facing the WALL...!? Or
is there an entrance?

A wonderful work of art out of a common everyday activity of this woman. The simplicity is what makes this shot so spectacular.

So your wife also is a photographer. And she evidently has feelings for the way to show the womans skills, and the calmness and peace within this womans face and the way she sits.
Very talented photo. Verena
