Famous for being the see of two most important Monasteries: St. Benedict and St. Scolastica. The St. Scolastica Monastery is built in varied layers, Medieval, 500 and inside you can find the only Church designed in Italy by the Architect Quarenghi, the author of the Hermitage and most palaces in St. Petersburg.
