This is part of the old Castle of Fumone where Celestine V was prisoner and then killed. I'll post some more of this place located nearby at 1100 mt altitude.

Ed, I don't know that much about Celestine V. As your narrative has made me curious, I've searched for and found on Wikipedia some very interesting information. Like to give everyone who is curious too, the advice to check-out THIS LINK.
Very fine post again, my friend.
Regards, Cornelius.

The link is fine but there's an error on this phrase : A 1966 visit by Pope Paul VI (1963–1978) to Celestine's place of death in Ferentino along with his speech”. The correct one should be A 1966 visit by Pope Paul VI (1963–1978) to Celestine's place of death in Fumone along with his speech”.Remind me to post the entry of the Castle where there should be the plate of the visit at entrance of the Castle.
Ferentino (where I post some nice pictures) is not far from Fumone.
Unfortunately some source is not precise as we expect.
Many thanks.
Ed.

A very interesting view from this angle - The tree adds a lot to the beauty of this image. The textures are strong and clear on the walls.

A fabulous angle on this very interesting building, Ed. I love the way the light catches on the leaves, too. Can't wait for more views of Fumone.
