Despite appearances this was shot at about 9AM earlier today. The sky was a brilliant blue with wispy clouds floating through it. So I figured now is a good time as any for a B/W presentation. After all, who really wants to stare at a blue sky with a moon in it?

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I know I wouldnt! You got a great shot of the moon with perfect focus! The branch kinda gives it a Halloween feel! Great shot!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

My dogs are howling like a wolf Wendell after looking at this post. I have my feet propped up if you hadn't guessed.
Looks like a scene from a Vincent Price movie.

Talk about great minds think alike - I have almost the exact same shot, at around the same time and through the clouds too! I like your version better though.

Hi, Wendell...

What do you mean, "who really wants to stare at a blue sky with a moon in it". Hell...those were my previous two posts!!!!

Actually the B/W was a great idea. Great focus and clarity. I can only assume that you took this shot while standing on your head and kayaking down the fiercest rapids of the Colorado River. LOL

Wendell - The dof, with the moon sharply focused and the branch blurred, in b/w does have an eerie tone. The clouds add a nighttime sense. Well done! Thad

I like the photo but i think you had your beer goggles on it would have looked just as good with blue sky.

Wendell, it bring to mind all of the greats, i.e. Boris Karlof, Bele Lagosi, Vincent Price etc., not to mention some of the Addams Family scenes also. To me, the branch is depicting the legs of a spider creeping past your lens creating this errie scene. Well done! and Happy Halloweene lol

Super image of the moon Wendell, love the detail and also the softness of the foreground. My camera doesn't do so well capturing the moon
