...and maybe too much of the other.

A photo of some flowers. Two different types at that to my untrained eye. An alternate title was "A Snowballs Chance".

A little editing followed by some more editing and then just to top it off even more editing. Some cropping was involved, a little saturation, definitely some sharpening, lighting adjusted three ways towards Thursday, surprisingly nothing was cloned, and a few other things were tried and rejected or more likely forgotten.

Enjoy and crop it just to the left of the center blooms like your dying to tell me I should have done. Then flip it horizontally and add an optional border, but keep it simple. Or at least that's what I did with my copy. Your comments welcomed.

Phlox and hydrangea - a lovely combo and interesting lighting - a rather "old school" look.

I agree with Kathy, Wendell. Definitely Phlox and hydrangea although I'm not sure what "old school" looks like. I went to Von Steuben grade school and Woodruff High School in Peoria, and both schools were old even then. They were brick construction, but I don't see any bricks; so I'm at a loss in the "old school" department.

You seem to tackle shots that I would avoid like the plague. Lots of major light and dark mixed in here along with a need for a wide DoF. I'm happy to see that three of the hydrangea bunches (or is it flock, colony, gathering, covey, herd or perhaps school?) are well focused, but all the other hoohah is kind of a distraction for my simple mind.

I just figured out "old school". A group of Phlox is a school as in a school of fish. These particular Phlox look ancient. Hence and thus, we have "old school".

Not one of my favorites. I'm dying to tell you what you should have done, but I'm very polite and won't even mention it.

Sounds to me like you took care of the comments as to what it needs Wendell. The crop on the left would be sufficient. It is kinda like inviting your brother and sister in law to a barbecue and your mother in law shows up too. I think you know what I mean.
Interesting shot.
