After having seen his passport it turns out this is a wigeon of American nationality. It turns out he decided to over-winter here in the Great White North. Perhaps to get in some skiing, bob-sledding and getting his tongue stuck to cold metal poles, or whatever it is we can find for entertainment during those dark cold winter months up here.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Love the detail on the Wigeon ... he does look a bit cold though. Superbly captured.

Well he appears to be enjoying himself in the Great North White. Great colors and details when enlarged as Roger mentioned. Nice camera work.

I would not take my eyes off of that dude! He appears to be plotting something dangerous or perhaps it's Alfred E Newman in disguise. Either way, I would keep my distance.

I'm glad he's enjoying his time up north but I bet he's not around by the end of January! Nice post.
