So after spending the better part of an evening messing around with this image I ended up with this. Adding the fake sky technique just didn't look right. Adding a textured background would have just raised too many "why did you do that?" questions that I'm not prepared to answer at this time. Actually editing the photo that had the correct camera settings didn't cross my mind until after I was done and it was too late to go back by then.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

A lot of waste on the left side...

cropping it off would highlight the thistle better

good one though

Even these prickly thistle's can make a for a good capture. You do have alot of empty space on the left, but otherwise it's a good one my friend. Tigs♥ =^..^=

We are always after you to do a little more cropping, Wendell. Do you actually give a crop? :)
You could flip it and have too much on the right side.

I would love to see a macro of that thistle - there are some interesting textures on the underside. I agree about the cropping but I like the upward angle.

I like it just as it is and the detail in the thistle is very good and the white background helps to make the flower stand out in this capture.8/10 that's not bad mate lol.

I don't like thistles, but the little birds do, so we have to let some of them grow, we use to much spray around here. I've never seen one up close though, this shot I like. Nice!

Sometimes the un-edited version is always the best. The lighter background brings in more focus to the thistle on the right. Makes a nice simple desktop too. Very well done, Wendell.

A great capture Wendell. Never seen a thistle of this particular kind. It has a lot swirls in it.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.
