A chance encounter with a dragonfly earlier today led to one of three quick shots before it vacated the premises because apparently it had better things to do than to get its picture taken. And I was of no mind to follow it through the thick undergrowth and swamps on the off chance that it would alight on a branch once again.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

It is a well spotted photo opt, and sharp as a tack. I like the lighting on the wings. I have found that many times they will come back to the spot they took off from. tigs=^..^=

I was chasing a butterfly through thick undergrowth yesterday. The butterfly won and I didn't get a single photo. Your persistence paid off with this fine photo, Wendell.

You got a good shot even in your hurry Wendell. Nice clarity overall especially on the dragonfly - also a good bokeh.

Nice capture of the dragonfly Wendell - I like the blurred background giving full focus on the dragonfly.

It's almost impossible to get those buggers to sit still, so you did a remarkable job getting this shot. Well done, Wendell.
