Just when I think I've seen everything there is to see along the trails in the park I stumbled across this object yesterday. As near as I can figure the beavers have found religion and this is one of their shrines. Due to the excessive heat of the summer the water levels have dropped and this sacred site was revealed. I hunted around for religious icons to appropriate (for further study naturally not monetary), but came up empty handed as I heard the tell-tale slap of a tail on the water approaching. I dared not stick around and witness their rituals lest I became too intimately involved in an involuntary manner if you know what I mean.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Too funny Wendell - your narrative that is. This natural sculpture is most intriguing.

The beavers religion called "beverage" was founded approximately in 120000 B.C. Wendell. A lovely and peaceful looking place and a great capture of it. It will make a good entry for the contest.

Good thing you were there on a Saturday, and not Sunday..the beaver's day of worship. Beautiful scene and presentation...with a most entertaining narrative.

You say this appeared after the water went down? Well then your assessment of it as a sacred site may very well be correct. Here in the Dakotas we often see stone cairns at places the native locals still use as we Anglos use churches and, comparing it to some here, the shape of this one suggests "man." Very cool and a great find. Thanks for sharing it, Wendell.
