Successive gaussian blurs to give the effect of focus on foreground, and desaturation of background.

You have captured a nice scene here. The added effects have done justice to the image. How ever the pic looks a little out of focus. Since you were targeting the petals the main focus should be on stairs and the petals.

Good job on this picture. It does look a bit out of focus, but not much. I give it an "8".

I understand the other comments, but I'd just like to say well done on choosing a very nice scene and perspective.

There is a reason they put an "off" button on these things, you know...

beautiful way to show a detail of leafs...very touching, and definily a great angle.

Maybe I should be more clear in regards to the focus. The picture used to be entirely in focus, but to bring attention to the foreground I did a number of things. First, I oversaturated the stairs only, then gave a heavy blur to the background to the left (the furthest away), editing the edges all the way to the middle of the bush, and then gave the bush and to the right to the right edge of the far bench a milder blur, then a very mild blur from there to the middle of the near bench. I then desturated the entire image so that the petals lying on the stairs retained their original colour while the background dropped away in emphasis. I did this to bring out the petals in the foreground. The lack of focus above the stairs was done as a conscious choice. Just thought I should clarify.

Great picture. I really do like the way the petals are about on the steps. Very nice work
