The Douro River (the second bigest of Portugal)was in the past the most important way to the transports to the cities of Oporto and Vila Nova de Gaia, evrything came to this towns by boat, so the abondoned factory of this serie of shots was builded near the river and in this shots we could see what remains of the old wood pier that was used to serve the factory

time changes everything and it is a shame that some things are left to rot. .....however this perspective makes a nice image and I like the textures and lines of the old boat ramp - it appears that this side of the river is a huge contrast to the big city on the other side!

Interesting shot. I like how you can see the new city on the other side in contrast with the old wooden pier in the foreground.
