Have never seen such a beautiful 'patchwork', Bruce.
Although I'm not an expert in this kind of art, think you've combined the different styles of art. Whether I'm wrong or right, to me it's an amazing and perfect render.

Boy, did I get a bizarre interp in my head with this one... the circular wrinkles like skin... the stalks on the right like some wild hairs... the white "wall", top center, like an opening into something stellar, and the segmented piece above that opening like an accordion-like garage door. I know! It's a close-up of the upper left side of an alien pilot's skull, and the opening is how he accesses his brain for higher-function navigation. I can't decide though, if that red dot is his eye or if he's been consuming too many Antarrian phlegm bugs. They're loaded with starch and sugar, y'know.
