When we visited Point San Pablo Harbor a couple of weeks ago, we came across this amazing structure. I don't know what it's constructed of but the surface is a ceramic tile and the tail barbs are glass with metal frames. Sue is there on the left upper side on a bench so you can get a feel for the size of this thing. I actually came across this last year when I was inspecting a houseboat in the marina there, but I wanted Sue to see it. There are other unique structures here as well, and I will post them soon:):) Enjoy!!!

Psssssss!
Bruce, this sigh of relief escaped my body when I read/saw this huge gator is a sculpture.
In spite of its wonderful shape, I'm glad I can't get stuck between his jaws. A good idea to include your wife Sue in the background photograph of this collage. It excellently shows the size of this 'critter'.
You made me curious about the pictures of other unique structures there, but I have to be patient, Buddy!

I am a little behind in my commenting, only becoming aware of this because of your comment on my dragons, Bruce, but I really dig this sort of artwork/sculpture. I started developing large projects while in college years ago, chasing a degree in fine art. They take quite a while to create but, if one can follow through, the results can be breathtaking. I hope that when I finish my backyard ceramic studio, I can return to my 6 foot square 3D map of 1850 Paris that I started in college. Why in hell would I do something like that? Probably for the same reason the artist crafted this dazzling, giant gator. Because they can and because they want to leave something over-the-top and unique and lasting behind. I really appreciate the double view and the scale created by your intrepid Sue.

Happy Trails, never pet a barking chicken, and be sure to spend time in the presence of real art.
