Predjama Castle (The Cave Castle) hangs dramatically in the middle of a 123 metre cliff – a four storey structure almost arrogant in its simplicity, but unconquered and uncompromising. A castle has stood on this site since the year 1201. It offers the experience of the medieval legend of the robber baron Erazem Predjamski. The stairs leading to the upper floors are carved into solid bedrock, and the secret niche hid treasure until recently!

wow very impressive the way it's built inside the cliff and with all the history surrounding it... must be a great experience visiting this amazing castle.

Great capture of this magnificient structure Blaz. Interesting history also, especially the part that it has never been conquered. Looks like it has been well taken care of for being a medieval castle...gerry..

An amazing castle. Built into the cliff - and with the cave for extra protection. No wonder this castle has been around so long. Yea, this caslte is pretty amazing, It is in Slovenia, I've been there twice. I've also been in the cave behind it. It is the largest bat breeding cave in europe. But yea this castle is pretty amazing! Thanks for posting this

weird place for a castle, too bad you have this red roof in front, it would look very dracula-esk, say frightening, if only the castle would be in the picture...but thnx for sharing
