You are getting closer and closer to perfection all the time. That seems so real with the a scene like dawn sneaking up from behind casting those shadows in a realistic way.

Definitely ominous, though I'm not sure how much of this is the description combined with the image and how much the image alone. But the darkened tower would surely be a threatening element, regardless. Very well done. No idea how you do it, but whatever it is you do, you've done it well!
