This is in response to the challenge from Les. This was done, hastily, from the first set of parameters. I really am not happy with it, but since it took 11 hours to render, I am posting it. I don't think I can post the link to the challenge properly, but here goes nothing! http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Board::Topic&id=1713188

Well, lol ... you may not be happy with your efforts ... but, I sure am. :o)

Thank you Frankie ... I just knew you would bring your usual unique touch to the challenge. Your flame here is most representative of that.

Very nice detailing at the edges, replicating the facets of the overall design ... I am impressed.

And a flame from you would not be complete without a background. Nice work there as well.

Two thumbs up from me, and thanks for your participation.

Apophysis Challenge. And on that page I will post a link for you back to your image here. No worries and thanks again. :o)

Stunning. I'm not sure what you're not happy about as you don't say - and it certainly isn't obvious from the image - but I think this is outstanding. Amazing work even by your usually high standards.

I like the colouring - that deep turquoise against the pink, the hints of green and deeper blues - and the contrast between the sharp, beautifully clear wheel of the flame and the soft, gentle clouds behind it.

I am honoured to be listed as a friend or to see an image of mine as a favourite, but I keep lists of neither. This helps me appreciate images uploaded by strangers as well as friends. Please understand that a failure to reciprocate in kind indicates a lack of appreciation for neither gesture nor work.

Well, since Les has give out his challenges, my fractal files are filling up rapidly and this has its place there as well. The fractal is good in and of itself, but the colors are what's got me all agog!

:)
