King Wilhelm I of Wurttemburg had the castle atop this hill demolished when his wife, Queen Katharina of Russia, died at the age of 31. He had this beautiful chapel built as her final resting place. They are both buried here with their daughter, Princess Marie. The Russian Orthodox Congregation still holds services here once a year. Another view of the chapel is available here. Also, see the inside of the dome.

I love this pic, but wish you were closer. It is a very intersting background link you provided though. Great picture!

Angelle "Words are like crayons and paints. The only difference is you have to work harder to see their colors.

the colors in this are great! it has an old postcard type feel to it, except with crispness. thanks for the history behind it, too. i lived in germany for a couple years and absolutley love the countryside there!

Love the lines in this one Chris! I think the farmer is very disciplined to have created such straight lines through his fields - mine would go like this - S! lol! I really like the colours and contrasts in this one and the composition. Nothing I can say to improve it!

I second the comment about it feeling like an old postcard - unique color and saturation! I like it. Beautiful scene!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

This is a wonderful shot. I have two questions, what is the colour trick? and what was the crop - curiosity will kill me.
