While driving by Legion Lake in the Black Hills I spotted these Male Bighorn Sheep Lounging in the shade about 50 feet off the road. I zoomed in and snapped this picture.
It's amazing how they seem to be clones of each other, but then again if I were a sheep, I could probably tell the difference. The angle you saw these and shot these animals with is, in my opinion, more than half the reason why I like this picture so much. That they were in the shade is too bad, but I guess you could hardly ask them to move for you ..LOL... :)
Is this a stag party? Sorry :) Wonderful shot of this group. It looks like they posed for you! Good clarity and well composed with fine details - you have it all! They have awesome horns and are handsome creatures. We used to see them in the Mts of Colorado. I thank you Rich, for an excellent image :)
Ohhhhh they are SO beautiful. I had forgotten about them being in SD....YOu got such a great photo of them. I love that they were in the shade..that makes it look even better. Nice work. V
"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called. ~A.A. Milne
