Thank you all for the very kind words! Yes, I used a telephoto when I took the picture. :) I have been close to them (alligators) before, but we have an understanding, and I keep my distance most of the time. I have a Canon Powershot SX40HS and I love it! I will upload most photos as time allows. Thank you again everyone for the welcome!

Lovely close up and I bet you used at least a 200mm lens for this one and if not your one brave person but i am one for pushing myself to get close to a hair seen like this .The detail is stunning a bit bright but is that because you used flash to blind it first to get close lol.Yes very nice photo and composition too.
