This isn't a great photo obvisously, but it's the only couple I have of my old house in Detroit. My sister went up for a high school reunion and drove by the old neighbourhood and said that they had demolished our childhood home which doesn't suprise me being that it was in sad repair for quite some time and standing vacant with fire damage and parts of the roof missing. There are so many homes such as mine that have been torn down or burnt to the ground. Countless thousands of buildings are gone having been replaced by nature with deer and other animals taking over the land. This post is somewhat related to This one This photo was taken about 1984 from the back.

Good reason to keep this one for the sake of old memories.

The house may be gone already for a long time, but you've still its memories, Alex.
Keep it in a safe place as long as you can because childhood memories are priceless!

I lived in the Detroit Area from 1973-1979, pretty much through my adolescent years...Even then, it looked different...There might've been a vacant house here and there but not like now...It's almost like a ghost town, mixed with vacant lots and row after row of abandoned and burned-out shells...Big Auto and Big Union went head to head 30 - 40 years ago...and Detroit lost...

Thanks for sharing...faved...
