This is a before and after of Lettuce Lake, the inlet of water that comes in from the Hillsborough River. The top picture was taken April 2006. The bottom is in the same location and was taken a few days ago Nov 2016. We obviously were in a drought then, and from over pumping of the Hillsborough River that led to the lower water levels. There were areas of the river that resembled a stream rather then a river 100 feet wide. There were many areas of the swamp you could get to then and almost walk across the river. I haven't seen it this low since then, I think they learned their lesson.
