I was going through the archives and ran across this photo I took shortly after we moved into our new place. As some of you know, there are alligators that roost not far from our back entrance. I understand the trepidation many would feel about that arrangement, but they stay to themselves and our not threat unless you decide to wander down to the water and splash about. There are been a few alpha-gators that have made our lake their home the past few years so I am not sure who is who to be honest. I believe this is the first gator that we saw and named "Snaps" there was another larger guy we called "Chomps" LOL! This shot was taken from our patio January 2016. A couple month's after we moved in.

Almost looks like he took control of a surfboard, which makes me wonder about the fate of the prior owner.

lol, had to chuckle at the above comment and the way this gator is 'smiling' I'm beginning to wonder about the same thing:)...good shot of Snaps...I can't imagine being comfortable with these guys so close to home but I guess you get used to it if you're careful and respect their space.

Alex, at the time this image was taken the young Snaps was still practicing surfing.
Meanwhile it's gone. It was recently seen in the vicinity of Hawaii, performing 'curl surfing', ☺ ☺ ☺ .
