A view from the top of Cheddar Gorge which is part of The Mendips. A small range of hills with a flat plateux on top through which Cheddar Gorge runs. Although its only about 300m about sea level it seems very high compared to the Somerset Levels which are very flat indeed as you can see. In this view you can also see Cheddar Reservior

First thought was the image was a bit washed looking, but hey I think it gives the image a cool affect. Great depth of field and well composed. Well done.

As I look at the image I think it could use a bit more contrast, but like all these things it is a matter of intent by the photographer and taste. My impression is that a differentiation between the sky and ground at the horizon would increase the sense of depth, and maybe make the lake jump a little more. But it is an excellent composition - well done.

The lighter looking pic is more realistic to me as it looks as if the sun is behind a bunch of thin white clouds and it highlights the entire area. I really like this pic and have set it as my desktop today. I would like to see more of this area of the world!
