Ok so this is really not my style! I dont tend to take pictures of sculptures as it feels like i am cashing in on other artists hard work. However, i am rather proud of this one as i can say hand on heart that this is completely unedited! No post shot correction of contrast, no smoothing, just raw as it comes off the camera. I also didnt use a flash. The lighting conditions were difficult as i was stood in a sort of underground stone hovel with light coming in from above and im feeling rather smug that the detail came out so well.....what do you think?

Real nice shot, I think the sculpture is a bit too centered, if it was to the left side it would look better.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

It looks like you interrupted this fellow before he could finish his bath. But at least he's friendly enough to wave. A great job with this unedited shot, Rachel. Nice details and textures in the photo. I'll agree it's a little too centered.

First of all let me say that I tend to agree with your implication in the narrative. I'm not a fan of photographs of sculptures, sculptures of photographers, songs about photographers or sculptures or dancers, or dances about sculptures.

I would have names this, "Bath and a Shave - 2 Bits", but I'm certifiably insane; so we'll let that pass this time around. So what's the deal with this guy. Hasn't he ever heard of a tanning bed? The man is seriously pale and needs to wash his feet. I can only guess why he right arm is raised.

Good detailed shot with acceptable contrast and a fascinating subject. I'll pass on the previous comments about the composition. Where do you find this sort of a statue?

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
