A beautiful flower I've never seen before...this was taken on my recent trip to Bennett Spring State Park. It's a wild flower, having a stem very much like an Iris and it stood off the ground a couple feet. I thought the little 'hairs' were kinda neat. Just wanted to share and I hope it gives you a smile today!!

We have these where I live. Not certain of the name, but they love to spread and I have to constantly move them because they pop up sometimes in your yard where they're not welcome. They are very pretty though and you've taken a wonderful shot of them.

I could be wrong, but you had mentioned the stem looked like a iris, however I beleive it is a iris. i have seen some of those around here or its very similar to I have seen. What I seen here, my wife says they are called Purple Wild Iris's. She isnt a 100% sure though...

Anywho, this is a awesome image. Very Well Done!!

Oh my Randy, you have caught my eye with this one for sure! The color is great and the detail incredible! I love the wispy hairs that are coming from the center of the flower. Were you going trout fishing at Bennett Springs? I know these as "Spiderwort" flowers. Very native to our state. You did on heck of a job capturing them because they are rather tiny blossoms. I love what you did with the background my friend. That really makes this a classy image. It is my new desktop for the weekend. Thank you for sharing these beauties with us :~)

Had to chase down your original after seeing today's post. This flower was worth the exploration of several posts. Well done, Randy!
